NLC CHAIR CALLS FOR CO-OPERATION, CONSULTATION AMONGST ALL THE STAKEHOLDERS

National Land Commission Chairperson Gershom Otachi has said that collaboration and constant consultation amongst of all stakeholders in the land sector is the only way the country can achieve meaningful land reforms.

Speaking while making a presentation before the Senate Standing Committee on Land and Natural Resources in Mombasa, Mr Otachi said all the stakeholders have different distinct roles that spur land reforms in the country.

He assured the Senators that the National Land Commission was ready to offer any kind of support to all stakeholders that come forth for any assistance and guidance.

The chair challenged the members of the standing committee to help in championing for the development of County Spatial Plans by the county governments who are yet to craft the document.

Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Zechariah M Njeru, State Department of Lands Principal Secretary Generali Nixon Korir and NLC Vice Chair Getrude Nguku also attended the two day event.
