Top Management of the National Land Commission gathered in Mombasa for a five-day working retreat to bring up to speed the newly appointed Chairperson and other six commissioners.
Speaking while officially opening the Induction exercise, the National Land Commission Chairperson, Dr. Abdillahi Sagaaf Alawy called for teamwork, unity of purpose and constant and continuous consultation for the overall achievement of the commission’s mandate.
He said that land is one of the issues that touches the lives of common wananchi on daily basis and the need resolve all matters that come before the commission expeditiously was key.
On her part the National Land Commission Chief Executive Officer, Kabale Tache assured the newly sworn in commissioners of the secretariat commitment in discharging their duties professionally.
During the induction NLC Directors and Heads of Departments highlighted their respective roles to the newly sworn in Commissioners
“The Commission is blessed with a professional, diligent and hardworking secretariat staff, which is one of our biggest assets,” said the CEO.
Later the Chair and the CEO paid a courtesy call to Mombasa Governor H.E Abdullswamad Shariff Nasir and County Commissioner who appreciated the commission efforts in resolving Historical Land Injustices in Mombasa County.
The Chair appreciated the role played National Government Administrative Officers (NGAO) in supporting NLC especially during land compensation.
