The National Land Commission (NLC) on Wednesday undertook public participation on the Draft Historical Land Injustices (HLI) Regulations and the Draft Review of Grants and Dispositions Regulations in Garsen, Tana River County.
The engagement provided an opportunity for members of the public, community representatives, leaders and other stakeholders to review the proposed regulations, share their views, raise concerns and make recommendations on matters relating to historical land injustices and the review of Grants and Dispositions.
The public participation is part of the Commission’s efforts to collect the views from members of the public to enrich the draft regulations.
The delegation that was led by the Deputy Director Land Administration Mr. Zechary Ndege earlier in the morning paid a courtesy visit to Tana Delta Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Julius Ngetich who praised the efforts of the commission in resolving the land issues in the region.
The feedback and recommendations received during the exercise will inform the finalisation of the draft regulations.
The Commission appreciated the participation of the people of Tana River County and reaffirmed its commitment to continued stakeholder engagement in the management and administration of public land and the resolution of historical land injustices.
