NLC GETS A NEW CEO

The National Land Commission has appointed Ms Kabale Tache Arero the new Chief Executive Officer, confirming her to the position she has held in acting capacity for the last four years.
Ms Kabale topped the seven-person shortlist in the interview conducted on June 12, 2023. She will formally assume office on July 1, 2023.
The incoming CEO is a seasoned career professional with over 20 years’ experience in Human. She holds a Master and Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration. She is a full Member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) and Certified Human Resources Professional.
The new Secretary/CEO brings a wealth of experience to the position having worked previously as an Acting Secretary/CEO in the Commission.
In a statement announcing the appointment, NLC Chairperson Gershom Otachi said Ms Kabale displayed a good understanding of the Commission, and thus was the best candidate for the job.
“The successful candidate displayed laudable understanding of the Commission mandate which is important in steering the work of the Commission Secretariat. She is highly experienced professional with an extensive background in leadership in various organizations specializing in Human Resource. She previously worked at the Constitution Implementation Commission (CIC) and Postbank,” the Chairperson said in a statement.
In her position as acting CEO, Ms Kabale was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Commission’s Strategic Plan 2021-2026 which currently guides the implementation of the Commission’s constitutional and statutory mandates.
In making the appointment, the Commissioners said they are looking forwwrd to Ms Kabale carrying on with the work she has been doing in leading the secretariat towards helping the Commission to achieve its constitutional and statutory mandates of inter-alia safeguarding public land for the benefit of all Kenyans.
“The Commission wishes to congratulate Ms Kabale on her appointment. We are confident that she has what it takes to steer the National Land Commission to the next level,” said Mr Otachi.
Ms. Kabale was appointed as the acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) on December 18, 2018. She was instrumental in managing the transition following the exit upon the expiry of the term of the inaugural Commissioners and the second team of Commissioners.
Before her appointment to act in the position of CEO, Ms Kabale was the Director of Human Resource Management & Administration at NLC.
