The National Land Commission (NLC) today welcomed a high-level delegation from the Republic of Sierra Leone, led by Commissioner General Abu Bakarr Sappay Foray-Musa and Paramount Chief PC Bai Forki Fenka. The visit marks a significant milestone in peer-to-peer learning and underscores the growing international interest in Kenya’s land administration systems.
The delegation was received by the NLC Chairperson, Dr. Abdillahi Alawy, the Vice Chairperson, Dr. Julie Oseko, Commissioners; FCPA Susan Oyatsi, Hon. Mary Seneta, Hon. Mohamed Abdi, and Daniel Murithi and the Chief Executive Officer, CHRP, Kabale Tache.
During the productive engagement, the Commission provided the visitors with a comprehensive overview of its operational framework. The leadership shared invaluable insights into the Commission’s processes, offering lessons aimed at strengthening land governance in Sierra Leone. The robust discussions reflected a shared commitment to transparency, efficiency, and justice in public land management.
The visit reinforces the National Land Commission’s status as a regional benchmark for land administration. This is not the first time the Commission has hosted international delegations; Kenya’s track record in public land management reforms continues to attract countries seeking to learn from our experiences. The National Land Commission remains proud to share its journey and contribute to the broader African dialogue on land rights and administration.
