CIOs’ CONSULTATIVE FORUM WITH THE EXECUTIVE COMES TO A CLOSE

The National Government will continue enhancing collaboration with the Constitutional Commissions and Independent Offices (CCIOs) for better service delivery to the general public, the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has said.

Speaking while officially closing the three-day consultative forum in Naivasha, Mr Koskei challenged the CCIOs to adopt the whole-government approach in discharging their individual mandates, further noting that the success of each commission and independent office means the success of the government.

He said that in line with Executive Order No. 2 of 2023 placing the coordination of the CCIOs in the Office the Deputy President a number of recommendations emanating from the CCIOs has been expedited for implementation.

The Head of Public Service further commended the willingness of CCIOs to enhance collaboration with the executive while maintaining their independence.

“We need to use the scarce resources optimally. Let’s cut off unnecessary spending such as payment of rents for private offices and so many others,” said Mr Koskei.
