PRESIDENT RUTO MEETS INDEPENDENT COMMISSIONS’ CHAIRPERSON, COMMISSIONERS AND CEO’S

National Land Commission (NLC) Chairperson Mr. Gershom Otachi, Commissioners and acting Chief Executive Officer Kabale Tache, joined H. E. President William Ruto in a consultative forum with Chairpersons, Commissioners and Chief Executive Officers of all the Constitutional Commissions and Independent Office holders at Statehouse Nairobi.
During the meeting, President William Ruto noted that CCIOs are integral to the prosperity and stability of the country.
While calling for interdependence amongst the government agencies as they discharge their mandates President Ruto reiterated his commitment to enhancing the autonomy of each Commission.
The head of state challenged the Commissions to collectively and individually guard their independence as spelt out in the constitution.
On his part, NLC Chairperson Gershom Otachi applauded the President for designating the Office of the Deputy President as the liaison office between the Commissions and Independent Office holders with the Executive.
This, Mr Otachi said, was a perfect forum to articulate issues affecting CCIOs individually and collectively.
Mr Otachi, who also doubles up as CCIOs chairperson, called for full implementation of the various advisories given to the state through various Commissions and Independent offices.
During the meeting, Mr Otachi, alongside his vice chair Florence Kajuju presented the Compendium to the President.
