The National Land Commission (NLC) team, led by Mr. Zachariah Ndege, Deputy Director for Land Administration and Management, continued ground verification exercises under the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP II) in Homa Bay County.
The exercise covered Ndhiwa Settlement Scheme and Kijijini Informal Settlement Scheme.

The team was received by Ms. Violet Odawa , NLC County Coordinator, Homabay County. They also paid courtesy calls to the Homa Bay County Commissioner, Mr. Ronald Mwiwawi, and the Deputy County Commissioner, Ms. Lucy Ndemo, who emphasized the importance of coordination and proper documentation in securing land tenure.

The verification focused on confirming beneficiary lists, alignment of approved plans with developments on the ground, land availability and viability, and identifying disputes prior to the issuance of tenure documents.

This exercise marks a critical step toward tenure regularization and sustainable urban development under KISIP II.
