National Land Commission Chairperson Dr. Abdillahi Alawy and CEO Kabale Tache Arero on Wednesday met a delegation from Kibra Toi Market to discuss the best way to secure the market which has long been under the control of absentee landlords.

Dr. Alawy directed immediate deployment of an investigative multi-agency team to undertake verification of all title deeds issued within the market.
He pledged that going forward the commission will proactively work with all the stakeholders to ensure that all public interest cases are sorted as soon as possible.
On her part NLC CEO Kabale Tache said that due process will be followed while undertaking the investigation, further requesting the officials from the City County of Nairobi to furnish the commission with all the required information and documentation showing that the land is indeed public.
