It was always coming and on Friday night, at a spectacular event held at the Panari Hotel, Kabale Tache, the CEO of the National Land Commission, emerged the top among her peers.
She was voted the Best People-Focused CEO of the Year Award during the Human Resource Awards Gala Dinner organised by the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
This accolade recognizes her outstanding leadership and dedication to creating a nurturing work environment within the Commission.
Madam Kabale narrowly missed the top prize narrowly in 2023 but that was not to repeat itself again this year. She trounced all to bag the top award.
In her acceptance speech, Madam Kabale expressed deep appreciation for the committed employees of the National Land Commission, attributing her success to their steadfast support. “This award belongs to each and every one of you,” she declared, highlighting how their teamwork and dedication have empowered her in her role.
The CEO also conveyed her gratitude to everyone who voted for her, both within the Commission and beyond. “Your belief in me, in my passion and enthusiasm, means so much, and I am truly thankful,” she remarked, underscoring the significance of community and trust in achieving professional milestones.
As she concluded her speech, Madam Kabale shared an inspiring message with her HR colleagues. She urged them to chase their dreams with confidence, affirming that self-belief, combined with hard work, can lead to the realization of any aspiration. Her motivating words remind us that with determination and support, anything is achievable.
The evening’s chief guest, Amb. Anthony Muchiri, who is the chairman of the Public Service Commission challenged the HR professionals to look beyond the traditional personnel definition of human resource by understanding the business side of things if they hope to rise to top levels in their organizations. He also revelead that PSC had deliberately made it easy for HR professionals to become CEOs/managing director by elevating top HR professionals in government to occupy director levels
