Hon. Mohamed Abdi Mohamed
Hon. Mohamed Abdi Haji is a distinguished Kenyan public servant, healthcare professional, and legal scholar whose career is defined by a deep commitment to regional development and national governance. Born in Mandera East, Haji established his professional roots in the medical field, serving as a Clinical Officer for the Ministry of Health for a decade before transitioning into the private healthcare sector.
His stint in national politics consisted of two terms in the National Assembly, where he represented Mandera West from 2002 to 2007 and later Banissa from 2013 to 2017. During his tenure, he emerged as a champion for educational reform and infrastructure development in Northern Kenya. He was instrumental in transforming the educational landscape of his constituency, overseeing the expansion of secondary schools from a single institution to over fifteen, including the establishment of the first dedicated girls’ secondary schools in the region. His legislative influence extended to the Parliamentary Service Commission and key committees overseeing Energy and Justice & Legal Affairs, where he advocated for human rights and the equitable distribution of national resources.
