Mtito Andei Health Centre And Ndohivyo Primary School Site Visit

The National Land Commission will this week, Wednesday 21st, visit Mtito Andei Health Centre and Ndohivyo Primary School in Makueni and Kwale counties respectively to ascertain the possibility of acquiring the two institutions as a result of the construction of SGR route.

A team of Commissioners, led by the chairman of the Land Acquisition Committee, Dr. Tomik Konyimbi will be identifying a new site for the Mtito Andei Hospital since its current location hinders effective delivery of the health services due to the challenges of noise, heightened traffic and activity in the neighborhood, conditions that are not conducive to health care.

As for Ndohivyo primary School, part of the school playing field and the fence have been affected by the SGR project. Adjacent to the school is Ndohivyo Special School with at least 85 boarding students. The mission of the Commission in this case will be to look at the best relocation option without necessarily affecting the learning of the handicapped students.

Other Commissioners accompanying Dr. Konyimbi are members of the Land Acquisition Committee who include Commissioner Silas Kinoti, Commissioner Emma Njogu, and Commissioner Clement Lenachuru.
